Job Title: Head of Research and Evaluation
Rachel is Head of Research and Evaluation at Nottingham City Clinical Commissioning Group. Her role as strategic lead for research and evaluation is very varied and includes ensuring the CCG is meeting its statutory duties in relation to research; strategic research partnerships; research capacity building initiatives with the CCG’s 54 GP practices and commissioning research to support the delivery of commissioning priorities. Rachel also provides evaluation advice and support for the organisation and is the evaluation lead for the CCG’s Care Homes Vanguard and Integrated Personal Commissioning Programme. Rachel has also recently led on the development and delivery of ‘finding and using evidence training’ for CCG staff. Rachel has worked in primary and community care NHS R&D for 15 years. Prior to this she was a Research Fellow at the University of Nottingham. Rachel started her career in NHS general management before undertaking an MA in Health Services Studies. This sparked her interest in health services research and directly led to her move into academic research and then NHS R&D. Rachel has been chair of the NHS R&D Forum’s Primary Care and Commissioning Working Group for the past three years.
