Chris Bray is Head of R&D Operations for Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUH) and Co-lead of the Trust’s Joint Research Office with the University of Oxford. Reporting to the Trust’s Director of R&D, he is responsible for the management and delivery of services to facilitate and support high quality clinical and translational research. OUH currently hosts around 1800 active clinical studies, many of which involve close collaboration with the University of Oxford.
Previously Chris spent more than 20 years working in two registered Clinical Trial Units at the University of Oxford, where he gained significant experience of setting-up and managing large, international, academic-led, late-phase trials. During this time he developed a particular interest in the development of IT systems to support these activities.
Chris has also served as a member of the Working Group which oversees the UK Trials Managers’ Network (UKTMN), as Co-lead of the Trial Conduct Working Group for MRC’s Hubs for Trial Methodology Research and is an external examiner for the University of Liverpool’s online MSc in Clinical Research
