The NHS R&D Forum are pleased to announce that the following speakers will be presenting sessions at the 2017 Annual NHS R&D Forum Conference in Manchester on the 15th & 16th May 2017.
Job Title: Head of R&D Communications and Strategy
Chris heads Southampton’s hospital-university clinical research communications, working to engage public, clinical, industry and policy audiences with our work regionally and nationally.
He joined Southampton in 2012 from the Wellcome Trust, where he headed national public engagement support and development for Wellcome’s UK research centres and researchers. During his time with Wellcome he developed the Crick Institute’s first public engagement strategy, and was seconded to manage communications and public engagement for the Wellcome Trust Sanger Institute.
Chris originally trained as a neuroscientist, gaining his doctorate in Nancy Rothwell’s laboratory, working on the effects of inflammation on motor recovery after stroke. This built on a MSc in biological research at Oxford and a BSc in biotechnology at Cardiff.
