The NHS R&D Forum are pleased to announce that the following speakers will be presenting sessions at the 2017 Annual NHS R&D Forum Conference in Manchester on the 15th & 16th May 2017.
Job Title: Head of Research and Development
Caroline has worked in NHS R&D continuously for fourteen years with posts held in an administration, governance and management. Her current role is Head of Research and Development for Northumbria Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust since 2009.
Caroline is responsible for the overall running of the department on behalf of the Trust as a research host and sponsor, as well as strategic development to ensure long term sustainability and continued growth of activity. She has a Masters degree in Health Sciences, which also allows her to offer research design advice to multidisciplinary researchers at all levels within the organisation.
To date, Caroline has achieved success with a number of exciting initiatives including the development and establishment of a clinical trials partnership with Synexus, a multi-national clinical research organisation, which was the first of its kind in the NHS. She also conceived and co-designed a local project management system “IMPaCT”, which is now licensed to another two NHS trusts
Caroline believes that that the support of innovation and generation of new ideas is a core role of R&D Departments in collaboration with the AHSN and other partners.
