Job Title: Research Nurse
Organisation: NIHR/ Wellcome Trust Birmingham Clinical Research Facility
Charlotte Bailey undertook nurse training in 2009 at the Birmingham City University. Once qualified she worked as a staff nurse in the A&E department at the Alexandra Hospital NHS Trust, and went on to work in The Royal Orthopaedic Hospital NHS Trust, both in Birmingham. She then moved to the NIHR/ Wellcome Trust Birmingham Clinical Research Facility in 2014, where she has recently been promoted.
Charlotte is an experienced research nurse who has worked on a variety of early phase and complex commercial and academic research studies. Her varied clinical experiences include facilitating oncology studies administering chemotherapy and immunotherapies, GI studies and rare disease studies such as vasculitis.
She is actively involved in all aspects of research including set up, conduct, close down and archiving.
In addition Charlotte is the diabetes link nurse for the department; disseminating information, best practice and training patients and colleagues in diabetes care and management.
