The NHS R&D Forum are pleased to announce that the following speakers will be presenting sessions at the 2017 Annual NHS R&D Forum Conference in Manchester on the 15th & 16th May 2017.
Professor Susan Corr
Job Title: Head of Research and Development
Professor Susan Corr is Head of Research and Development at Leicestershire Partnership NHS Trust where she is strategically leading the growth of research within one of the biggest integrated mental health, learning disability and community health services Trusts in the UK. The Trust has 5,500 staff and provides services to a population of one million. Her role includes facilitating the establishment of interdisciplinary research groups to address service related research question including embedding public and patient involvement in research and staff perceptions of suicide risk.
She is responsible for the Research & Development service including the National Institute of Health Research (NIHR) Clinical Research Network East Midlands (CRN:EM) partnership contract with the Trust. She is passionate about supporting staff development and learning to build the number of staff who are research aware, research engaged and research leads with the goal of building a sustainable critical mass of clinical academics across disciplines and delivering high quality research. This has included supporting LPT staff with Clinical Academic Career pathway internship and NIHR Masters in Clinical Research applications. She is also grant holder for a UK Occupational Therapy Research Foundation funded study ‘Occupational Therapy and Cognitive Stimulation Therapy: facilitating occupational performance of people with dementia’
