The NHS R&D Forum are pleased to announce that the following speakers will be presenting sessions at the 2017 Annual NHS R&D Forum Conference in Manchester on the 15th & 16th May 2017.
Job Title: Acute Research Team sister
Holly is the Sister of the Acute Research Team at the University Hospitals of the North Midlands, a registered nurse with over 16 years’ experience of working within the NHS and 10 of these years in research delivery. Holly has led the stroke research team at the trust since 2006.
In 2010 her trust became one of eight national hyperacute stroke research centres specialising in clinical trials within hours of stroke onset. Holly implemented extended hours of working within the team locally and following this success in 2014 bid for and successfully obtained additional funding to become the first centre nationally to offer 24/7 access to stroke research trials and the team went on to win the ‘Clinical Research Nursing Times Award 2016’ for the project.
Holly has gone on to be the national lead nurse for the hyperacute stroke research network and has expanded her role locally now leading the A&E, trauma and neurosurgery research alongside stroke.
Holly’s passion is offering every patient the choice and opportunity to take part in research, regardless of the time of day that they attend hospital and is lucky to be surrounded by an enthusiastic that locally that share this ambition.
