The NHS R&D Forum are pleased to announce that the following speakers will be presenting sessions at the 2017 Annual NHS R&D Forum Conference in Manchester on the 15th & 16th May 2017.
Job Title: Senior Research Sister
Senior Research Sister Kate Cheshire joined the research team in 2008 to initially lead on a research trial to detect heart defects in new-borns. Nine years later she manages a team of research personnel comprising of research sisters, research midwives and clinical trials assistants.
Together they deliver research projects across multiple areas, including paediatrics, diabetes, maternity and gynaecology, within the Royal Wolverhampton Hospital Trust. She has provided and delivered the opportunity for an ever-growing number of principal investigators to work with her on a variety of portfolio and non-portfolio trials.
When Kate initially qualified as a nurse in 1993, she worked in bowel surgery and urology before undertaking midwifery training in 2000. She has a passion for low risk midwifery care, and continues to perform her duties as a midwife on the Midwifery Led Unit on a part-time basis.
